Centrifugal pumps often struggle with self-priming. Especially if there is air in the system. A manual diaphragm pump is used when starting the centrifugal pump. Manually starting the water pump

A manual diaphragm pump is operated manually. Moving the lever of the pump up and down creates a change in volume through the diaphragm. The two check valves ensure that the water can only flow in one direction. This allows you to easily fill the suction hose and the pump housing with water.
