Temperature protection

If a high-pressure pump heats up its own water via a bypass, by temporarily not drawing water, this can lead to overheating of the pump and potentially cause damage. In such a situation, temperature protection can be vital to protect the pump. Temperature protection shuts down the system or drains some of the hot water. More information

Use a thermal valve and prevent damage to the high-pressure pump

Water above 63°C results in pump damage when there are no hot water seals in the pump. The hot water can cause the pump's cuffs to melt. To prevent this, you can fit the pump with hot water seals (suitable up to 85°C) or fit the pump with a temperature safety device.

Electronic and mechanical

There are various types of temperature protection available. We have electronic temperature protection and mechanical temperature protection in our range.

Electronic temperature protection

An electronic temperature safety switch is located in the press section of the pressure washer. These switches are designed to automatically switch on when the temperature of the water reaches a certain level. They are often used as a simple and cost-effective way to prevent overheating.

Mechanical temperature protection

The mechanical temperature guard is mounted on the pump head of the high-pressure pump. The valve of this temperature safety device opens automatically when the water exceeds 63°. This will cause it to discharge the water contained in the pump head so that this water in the pump can never get too hot. When this has happened, this mechanical safety device will have to be replaced with a new one.
