Weed control on pavement

Weed control on pavements such as roads, pavements, driveways and paving can be a challenging task. For this, we have developed eco-friendly methods. Using hot water to treat weeds is a thermal method. Hot water is sprayed or poured directly on the weeds, using special hot water lances that damage the plant cells and cause the weeds to die off.

Various hot water hoes and lances

Our range includes various hot water hoes, which, in combination with a WeedMaster machine, can be used for various purposes. There are lances with a working width of 160 mm. up to lances with a working width of 500 mm. When you use which type of lance partly depends on the type of WeedMaster machine and the surface/application.

Hoes without wheels

For controlling weeds in joints between clinker terrace tiles, hot water hoes are available in widths from 160mm to 300mm. Where the 160 mm is best used for large tiles and few joints. This allows for targeted weed control with minimal water loss. The 300 mm hoe can be used with clinkers where there are many joints. This allows you to treat a large surface more quickly.

Hoes with wheels

When working for a long time in a row, we have hot water hoes with wheels in the range. This allows you to control weeds in an ergonomic way without much effort. These hoes are available with a working width of 200mm for small areas up to 800mm for very large areas.

Control of Japanese knotweed and hogweed

For controlling invasive species such as giant hogweed and Japanese knotweed, we have developed special lances. With these lances, you inject boiling water at the root of these plants. With frequent treatment, these invasive species become depleted and can eventually be destroyed.

Removing weeds in borders and between plants

For removing weeds in borders and between plants, we have developed a tool. The perk hoe slides over the soil or pavement and treats the weeds without damaging the surrounding plants. The bedding hoe can be coupled to any WeedMaster from Waterkracht

Weeds. Due to a constant distance from the soil, the heat transfer of the hot water to the weeds is optimal. Advantages of the perk hoe are:

  • Suitable for both edges and sides of plantings and in between and underneath.
  • Direct heat transfer from the hot water to the weed plant
  • Faster work than hoeing and raking, only 1 pass.
  • Many times cheaper compared to traditional hoeing
  • No splashing, no crop damage
  • Light operation, even with one hand
